Why it exists
A pet with a chronic condition generates a paper trail: prescription labels, discharge notes, lab results, weights taken at home, a schedule that shifts after every visit. It ends up spread across a phone’s notes app, a kitchen whiteboard, a folder of photographs and somebody’s memory. PetMedLog puts it in one place, in order, with a date and a name on every entry.
The thing it is most careful about
Two people caring for one animal is where medication goes wrong. One gives the morning dose, the other cannot tell whether it was given, and the animal gets it twice. That is why every entry in this app names the person who made it, at full size, and why a dose record is never overwritten — a correction is added alongside the original and both stay visible.
What it deliberately is not
Not a veterinary clinic, not telemedicine, not a diagnostic tool, not a prescription service, not an emergency service, and not a wellness score. The app does not diagnose, does not prescribe, never calculates or suggests a dose, and never tells you whether a measurement is good or bad. Those are not features waiting to be built. Your records are yours
There is no account and no server. Everything lives in an encrypted database on your own device, and you can export all of it to CSV or a full backup at any time, on any plan, including after you cancel one. Nothing you have recorded is ever hidden, degraded or deleted because a payment lapsed.
