Is PetMedLog a veterinary service?
No. It is a record-keeping and reminder tool for owners. It does not diagnose, does not prescribe and is not a substitute for veterinary care.
Does it work out doses for me?
No, and it never will. Every dose value in the app is the one you typed from your veterinarian’s prescription. The app performs no calculation, no rounding and no unit conversion on any part of it.
Will it tell me whether a reading is normal?
No. It ships no reference ranges and colours no measurement by its value. Your veterinarian interprets the numbers; the app makes sure you have them, with dates and with the name of whoever recorded each one.
Is there a health score?
No. No score, grade, index, adherence percentage, streak or badge. There is no honest way to derive a number like that from what the app holds, which is only what you typed in.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no login, no password and no Sign in with Apple. Open the app and add your pet.
Where do my records live?
In an encrypted database on your device, with the key held in the iOS keychain. The app makes no network requests. There is no server for them to be uploaded to.
Can two people in my household share a pet’s record?
Not across devices — there is no account and no sync, so a record lives on the device that made it. What the app does do is name the person who logged each entry, so a shared phone or tablet shows plainly who gave which dose and when.
I logged a dose by mistake. Can I delete it?
No, and that is deliberate. Log the correction instead: it is added as a new entry that supersedes the old one, and both stay visible with their own names and times. A quietly overwritten record is how a dose gets given twice.
What happens when the trial ends, or if I cancel?
Nothing is taken away. Every record stays readable, dose logging keeps working, reminders keep arriving, and CSV export and full backup keep working. All a plan controls is how many pets you can add next.
How do I get my records out?
More ▸ Backup writes a file you can copy off the device with the Files app, and there is a CSV export beside it. The backup is readable text and is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere you are content for your pet’s records to sit.
Does the app track me or send anything anywhere?
No. There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK and no advertising in it, and it contains no HTTP client. Reminders are scheduled locally by your phone, not pushed from a server.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad, on iOS 15 and later. Nothing else is announced.
